- Heavy duty suspension, oversize radiator, high output alternator, Maybe a high ratio non slip differential, could be a few other changes depending on the make.
- "Police packages" come on cars meant for active law enforcement duty. Often, they're cars like Ford Crown Vics, Chevy Caprices or Ford Mustangs. The engine is usually bigger and beefier, as well as the suspension, frame, etc. They're usually better maintained than "civilian" cars for obvious reasons. The only concern I would have is that regardless of their stronger build and consistent maintenance, they're often ridden hard and put away wet. Think: the old police car in the original Blues Brothers movie. However, some cars are sold off the lot as "police packages" and aren't actually used by police. I'd definitely ask serious questions about the abuse the car has taken before buying.
