I want to sell my car for scrap/parts. What do I need to supply the buyer with?

Is going through Kijiji or similar the best and quickest way to go? Is there any cost in my contacting the DMV or, if there is anything else I need to do? I have not driven it for a while due to having to spend money to maybe make it work. My plates are up for renewal. What would the process be (in order) once I find someone from Kijiji who may want it?

3. You need to sign your title and give it to scrapyard. Don't forget to sign a Release of Liability and turn it into the DMV. They need to also know what happened to the car.
