Will 17" tyres fit on my Peugeot 206 GLX?

One for the petrol-heads out there: I just got a Peugeot 206 GLX W-plate (2000) and would like to get some alloys for it.. I currently have 175/65/r14 tyres on it, I'm sure that means they're 14", but someone out there will know more than me! I've been looking at Ripspeed Atoms - http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_557001_langId_-1_categoryId_165649 and would like to know if they will fit ok.. I'm a complete n00b when it comes to car modifying, so as much info as poss would be great. Mainly, I need to know if they will fit easily without doing anything to the wheel arches, suspension etc. Also, I guess the width matters, but like i say, I'm a n00b without a clue! I'm sure there's an easy answer, but I need to be sure before I blow 420 quid on these.. I've heard something about low-profile tyres, is this important? I cant see anything on Halfords page describing the tyres you get with the wheels.. Many thanks!

  1. T-I-R-E-S not tyres
  2. No, TYRES. Believe it or not the world doesn't revolve around the USA! Those in the link will go stright on with no problems. Low profile tyres just means that where your 14's have a small wheel and larger sidewall on the tyres, the 17's have larger wheels and a smaller tyre sidewall. So overall the size of the wheel tyre combo is roughly the same.
  3. As above, the wheels are bigger diameter, but the tyres have a lower profile, meaning that overall they're only 1/2" larger diameter than the originals. They're a bit wider, but have correct offset (the point at which the wheels bolt to your hubs with respect to the position of the wheel width - wise). They'll bolt straight on.
