will my classic car loose value?
i have a 1966 Impala SS which is an original 396 vehicle. for some reason i dont know why the previous owner removed that engine and put a 350 small block. now i want to put back the 396 to increase the value of the car. now my question is since i cant find any of the right year, if i put in one from previous or later years, will i loose value?

- The 350ci has already decreased the value, so if you install a 396ci it will actually add value over the 350ci. Keep looking for a date coded 396! Wrong dated coded engine shouldn't take more than 5 - 10% of the real value of the car.
- The value is that u hav to put the old engine which was removed by the previous owner!
- I bet you can find a correct year engine for the car if you look for it. having the 350 does decrease the value. Putting an incorrect 396 will bring it up a little, but for best value, find a 396 with casting numbers from your year
