need to register car we rebuilt, no pink,just bill of sale,got just the body,no engine,etc, NV needs title?

this body of a car was sitting on a guys ranch, not running. we towed it home in 2002, we now have it running (moved from CA to NV) and want to get it registered so we can sell it. Again, NV will not even run the VIN # without a title, what should we do? I think the guy owns the car planning to restore it but never did. we want to get it registered so we can sell it or do we sell it as is and let the new owner deal with it? thanks for any help.

1. Nothing you can do. You can't prove that you had any right to work on the vehicle. You can't prove that the VIN plate is original to that car. Basically, you can't prove that you had any justification at all to touch the car. Which is why NV wants nothing to do with it.
