- If you don't know much about cars, you should get a mechanic to do the work for you.
- By asking the question you define the answer. You don't know then you can't do it yourself. Get a mechanic to do it, or a friend who can.
- Depends on who you're taking the care to...Jiffy Lube or some place like that wouldn't let you do that. Now if you go to a more privately owned small chain or even a single shop, it's much more likely they would be just fine doing that.
- taking parts to a pro is like bringing your own lunch to a restaurant. pros will put them on but if the parts are defective, you assume the cost of the labour to replace them.
- you can do it either way you want. it's your car.
- mechanics make money on the parts too 2 most will install parts u bring [flat rate per hour] but most will not guarantee it. 3 check first 4 find good private shop [ask friends,,co workers,,family;;;best to have a friend at the shop...you may save a few bucks at jiffy lube but when you break down you are a stranger to repair guy...
- I would do it myself and save the labor charge.
- you can do it either way but if you get a garage to do the job then they will guarantee their work but not the parts.
