  1. If you don't know much about cars, you should get a mechanic to do the work for you.
  2. By asking the question you define the answer. You don't know then you can't do it yourself. Get a mechanic to do it, or a friend who can.
  3. Depends on who you're taking the care to...Jiffy Lube or some place like that wouldn't let you do that. Now if you go to a more privately owned small chain or even a single shop, it's much more likely they would be just fine doing that.
  4. taking parts to a pro is like bringing your own lunch to a restaurant. pros will put them on but if the parts are defective, you assume the cost of the labour to replace them.
  5. you can do it either way you want. it's your car.
  6. mechanics make money on the parts too 2 most will install parts u bring [flat rate per hour] but most will not guarantee it. 3 check first 4 find good private shop [ask friends,,co workers,,family;;;best to have a friend at the shop...you may save a few bucks at jiffy lube but when you break down you are a stranger to repair guy...
  7. I would do it myself and save the labor charge.
  8. you can do it either way but if you get a garage to do the job then they will guarantee their work but not the parts.
