How can I get car insurance in Quebec if I have a license from another country?
I'm from Australia, recently arrived in Quebec. I plan to buy a car and drive through Canada and the US, eventually arriving in Vancouver. I am having trouble finding an insurance company that will insure a car if I don't have a Quebec driving license. Can anyone help?

- For car insurance the obvious way to get a good rate is do a policy comparison on car policies. Make certain that you choose similar policies with the same limits, car type, location, etc so that all things are an accurate comparison. What I always recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have top name insurers and can give many prices on auto insurance polices.
- It seems a not easy cracking nut, look around here http://www.Autoinsurancepro.info/auto-insurance-free.htm ,you should find something helpful.
- Are you a resident, or a tourist? If a resident, get a license. If a tourist, your license is valid, but I doubt you will be able to buy and insure a car, rent perhaps, Most of the time you can't transfer the car into your name after the sale without insurance, and as you are finding, that isn't easy to get.
