Can a used car dealership sale me a car without the title?
I bought a car 4 months ago and have been unable to purchase tags for the car because the dealership does not have the title. The night that he sold me car he told me to pick up the title the next day. Each month that I go to pay my car note he reissue me paper tags and new bill of sales. I have been pulled over several times by the police and I am looking suspicious like I am the one doing wrong I was told I would be ticketed if I was pulled over again. What are my rights and what can I do about this?

- I would tell him either present a title or take the car back and refund my money. If he doesn't have a clear title the car is not his to sell.
- Demand Title of car, get a lawyer.
- sounds like you're paying for a car that may not be yours.........call the State Attorney General's office or the Dept of Motor Vehicles, as they issue him a license to sell cars......
- Sounds like you bought from a scumbag buy-here-pay-here car dealer, the worst kind. You may have to get a lawyer to sort this out. If you have bad credit (which is probably why you bought from this kind of dealer), the dealer doesn't care about your credit, and he's probably already gotten his money back on the car. So, one solution is just to take the car back and he'll put it right back on his lot for the next sucker. Of course, you'll lose the money you've already paid, but it might be better to cut your loses now rather than let this continue for more months. Right now, you are paying for a car that you don't own, and that the dealer apparently doesn't own.
