1964 or 1963 Chevy Impala?

Both convertible, both SS. Why? Regardless of which one I pick, I will fix them up to the max. The best performance parts under the hood for the classic, best visual upgrades (gold D's and hydraulics) and just make it an all out good looking car. If I do this will it matter which one I pick?

  1. I think the '63 looks better but some people think the '64 was mechanically better.
  2. look into which one is easiest to find parts for is the best piece of advice I can offer lol, sometimes that one year difference makes a big difference in availability and price on parts.
  3. The 64 always looked better to me> Other then looks they can be built the same. So it up to you which do you like.
  4. Buy the 64, fix it and sell or trade it for a 65 Impala !!!!!
  5. the only reason the 64 was sought after [ other than minor styling change,s] was because it was the first year to offer the 427 C.I.D. with a big bore holley 4 BBL...as where the 63 offered a 409 C.I.D. with dual carter 4BBL [ small bore] carburetor,s....although the 409 was available on very early 64,s ..it was quickly replaced by the 427....if you can find a 64 with a 409 it would be very rare , other than that & slight styling change,s they were nearly identical.
