What can you sell at a car boot sale?

Hi, I am planning on doing a Car Boot Sale and wanted to know if you are allowed to sell home-made cakes and also, are you allowed to do a tombola. I was planning on doing a tombola where you have to pick a winning ticket from the box in order to win the corresponding prize - as a way of getting rid of some of the smaller items and making some more money. But I'm not sure if you are allowed to do this for personal gain. Does anyone know the rules on Boot Sales?

1. All of this depends on your local ordinances. You can check with your local City Hall/Mayors office and inquire about necessary permits, restrictions, etc. As for the tombola, it's a type of lottery and subject to gambling laws. In most jurisdictions these are not allowed for personal profit. They are only permitted for charitable fundraisers, non-profits.
