Selling car to "Cash for car" dealer?

Has anyone sold a car to one of these "Cash for cars" places? They say they will come out and pay cash for your car, running or not. Seems a little sketchy to me, any experiences with it? City is san Diego, but any experiences are helpful.

1. its a high pressure place that trys to steal your car/(low price )
2. There are a lot of small dealers and curbers that do it. They will make an offer, usually a pretty low offer. If you accept it they haul it off. If not, then move along. Not much to it really.
