How much did the average car sold in the cash for clunkers program cost Johnny Taxpayer?
I am unsure. Thanks!

- not nearly as much as the unjust war in iraq
- It was worth it. Every clunker tossed in the trash also had an Obama bumper sticker on it.
- a lot less than the illegal and immoral iraq war did. i'm sure you're welcome
- Nothing Economics 101 If the GDP grows so does the tax revenue and it did by 3.5% this quarter which would pay for the Cash for Clunkers program times 10. SO, JOHNNY and that is only 44% of americans who pay ANY federal income tax at all by the end of their tax return will not have paid a dime. But you are not happy in your White Southern Rural world, RIght? David
- How do you calculate the economic impact of keeping thousands of people employed, getting paychecks, making their mortgage and credit payments? Rather than being laid off, defaulting on their short term credit and getting foreclosed on. The 600,000 cars that were sold as part of the program, kept people in their jobs. So yes, it cost taxpayers $4,000 per car. But the return on the investment is incalcuable.
- $24,000.
- $24,000 and the GDP rose in the 3rd Quarter, we are surrounded by numbers that move with the wind.
