Car for sale but is missing driver side air bag?

I found a car for sale on craigslist, (i think that was my first mistake) its a 2000 model black corvette, ttops, 20 inch rims, 36,000 miles, clean title, blah blah bleh blah, well i emailed the owner and he said that the only problem was that it was missing the drivers air bag? And they are asking only $9000 for it. Sooo, tell me what you think is going on? This has got to be a scam.

1. It was in an accident, the airbag was deployed and it was too expensive to replace thats what I think
2. Could have been in a crash and therefore and insurance write off which they are trying to sell, use one of those things you can text to find out its history.
3. It's easy enough to get an estimate as to how much it would cost to replace the air bag - but, and it's a big BUT - why does it need one????
4. 1. Lets look at what the vehicle is worth in good condition, $20,000.00 dollars according to kkb. 2. The drivers side airbag needs replacement, $1500.00 dollars. 3. 20 inch wheels and tires, $2000.00 dollars easy. 4. $9,000.00 dollars asking price, right. 5. Craigslist, first mistake. 6. Its a SCAM.
