buying, modifying, selling ?

hi, i want to start buying cheap cars, modifying them (body kits & stuff) then selling them on, hopefully for a profit :P is this a good idea ? or is there not really a market out there for this sort of stuff ? Just as a profitable hobby really also is there any websites where i can buy, cars to modify, then a special website where i can sell my modified cars. Thanks a lot :)

1. not really due to you can only sell a few cars before you become a trader and when you come a trader to have to pay taxes and the profit you make from each car wont be alot, ( i would be surprised if you made a profit at all) due to time and materials (paint and parts)
2. Ebay is the best on-line market place because its got a large volume of vehicles for sale and most people check it out when buying and selling. The next best is to go to a major auction and see what you can buy there - do a dry run first just to see how it works and what the prices are like. As to whether your idea is good or not depends on your ability to spot a bargain that will sell quickly and also your skills in doing-up said motors for very little cost. Don't forget the legal pitfalls either - you must only sell road-worthy cars that have genuine mileage otherwise you could have all sorts of trouble, also do not forget that the Tax Man may be watching!
3. Modified cars usually sell for a lot less than they cost to build. Often less than the standard car would have sold for. Don't bother. People who like modified cars like to do it themselves.
