Buying a used car without a license??? (MI)?
Today was my 18th birthday but it was Sunday so I couldnt do very much about it. I never took drivers ed - my parents never allowed me and told me to do it when I was 18 - which Im about to. My only problem is getting to work. My usual driver leaves for college at 6 am Monday morning, tomorrow/today. He wont be back for a long time and NO ONE else can drive me. No, not even family. I'm getting my permit soon. I do know people 21+ with licenses that can drive with me, they just dont have cars. I need to get a car though, obviously. I found a car for sale at a dealership, its used and its a beater but I can afford it. The only thing is, will they sell it to me without the license??? I dont even have a state id... All I have is ss number, a school ID, birth certificate, mail and other stuff social security and what not usually tend to use as forms of identification.

- you are going to need a license and insurance to get a car, I suggest you go buy a state id, normally when you trade it in for a license its free. But you want to put the cart before the horse, Figure out how to get a license, then go look for a car, save your money, why buy a beater pile of crap car? who says you cannot save enough money to come up with a decent car, I understand wanting the car, dont get me wrong, part of responsibility is doing things in the right order, not the order you want. So, get the license, first, save the money, go find a good car.ratty looking beater cars, scream pot smoker to cops anyhow, forget that, have some standards, set a realistic goal, buy a decent car. good luck
- If you have cash and a valid picture ID, you can buy a car. You cannot finance it or legally drive it without a license.
- It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota... First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car - for example here - carinsurance.yoll.net
