What are some books that teach you how to build/modify your car?

I'm looking for a book that teaches the basics and is easy to understand. Right now i drive an 06 Twin Turbo G35 Coupe, running on stock engine. Id like to learn how to build my own engine since I don't want to go to any shop. Also books that teach you more about turbo's. Preferably a book that focuses more on modern day cars.. I'd really appreciate it.

  1. Haynes has a manual on it, Its kind of basic stuff but its a good place to start.
  2. Hello, The first book i get after i get a new car is the "chiltons" because it is specifically about your car. That is a must. Once you read that, then i would go for specialty books about modifying other things.
  3. 1 shop manual specific to ur car...chiltons/haynes [same publisher] 2 try books a million...amazon for turbo,,suspension generic how to build/blueprint an engine 3 yahoo/google HP publishing want the truth? buy a already built long block,,,,you will have to remove all parts from engine..pull engine ,,,put all external parts on and reinstall,,,, if you get through that THEN see if you actually want to rebuild block upper and lower... its not just nuts and bolts....
