Overhaulin'

Does anyone know if the Police Volvo S60 pursuit cars are modified at all?

Just wondered as at looking at buying one, and wish to know if they are modded in any way or are they standard? Also are they maintained well in the Police.. i heard they are but worried if they have been in accidents etc... All info greatly received in particular from Police! Many thanks.

  1. No police vehicles are modified for improved performance. When sold to the public via auction are police equipment/markings (sirens, etc) are removed If you do buy one be aware its usually high mileage, and driven hard, potential accident repairs, though would be road worthy when sold.
  2. They're not modified in any way, although the earlier T5's did have uprated brakes. In reality, police vehicle spec is lower than normal to cut costs (no sunroofs etc). Personally, having driven them for thirty years, I wouldn't touch an ex-police car with a borrowed body!
  3. THATS CRAAAZY!!! to want a VOLVO police car--a lixury car used for deterent activity??? cant be a good thing you might as well just get a chevy caprice classic. THEY at least still have an 8cyl engine-- or the better chevy impala twin,,, would you want a mercedes that was used for a taxi in europe?!?!?!?!?
