Buy used car in one state and drive to other state without number plate..?
I am visiting michigan on weekend and found a used car to buy. I want to drive it back to Connecticut. But How should I drive, without number plate..? Is there any way to manage ? Or shuld I ask seller to sell his number plate also..? I want to register this car in connecticut and use everyday. Let me know how to deal this. Thanks in advance for your valuable answers.

- You need to get a Temp 3 Day pass. From the DMV to Drive it anywhere. However I'm not sure why the original owner isn't releasing the original Plates thats pretty shady. Since he releases The title and ownership of the car those plates go with the car they aren't his to keep unless they are collectors..
- Plates are not transferable. It is illegal to drive with plates that were issued to someone other than the (new) owner. You should get temporary (paper) plates from the Michigan Secretary of State (Michigan does not have a DMV) to use for driving the car home. Go by the route through Ohio. Do not take the short-cut through Canada.
