How can I buy a car in cash at a dealer?

I don't mean a used car. A new car.. I am going to buy a Porsche Cayenne turbo S in cash probably for my birthday.. And I am going to buy it in cash [yes I have money, my family is wealthy] None of my family buy cars like that because every year they get new more better cars. But I want this one and only this one because I don't want to be changing cars often. So what do I have to do? Just go to the dealer and tell them how I want the car and give them the money or how does it work? I don't want to ask my parents because I want to surprise them ; ] So please help! Thanks.

  1. Yeah. Just go to the dealer and take a test drive the car you want. Tell them you like it and they will ask you the mode of payment. Tell them you are paying cash. It is so easy.
  2. At the end of the day, the fundamental's of buying a car are no different than any other item. You must pay for it, and cash is as good or better than anything. You may face an IRS reporting requirement for any cash transaction exceeding $10,000. It's not as simple as breaking the payment into smaller parts. If the IRS determines you've done so to conceal the larger transaction for the purpose of NOT reporting it, you can be charged with "structuring" payments, a federal felony. A much simpler way to pay is by bank wire transfer. Provided the cash is already in the bank, you can wire as much as you like free from official scrutiny. Best of luck. I hope this helps.
  3. The best and most secure way to do it is to have your bank wire transfer the money directly to the dealers bank account. That way you don't have to deal with carrying large sums of cash around town. The only other way is by Certified Bank Draft which is nothing more than a check written from one bank and paid to another. Once you have negotiated your best deal and you have a buyers order in your hand go talk to your bank and ask them which method they prefer.
  4. Not to offend BUT..... If you don't know the answer to this question, then DO NOT go to a dealer and buy a car. Bring someone with you who knows something. Dealers love people like you and we will feast on you. Come to my dealer, I need a big check this week. lol. But the answer is yes, of course you can buy a car with cash.
