Where is the best place to buy a car that runs, for cash?

I'm in Dallas and I hate the bus system here. I lost my car recently and it's too damn hot to walk everywhere. I need a good cash car that runs. I'm not looking for a great looking car, just one that can get me to work and has air conditioning.

1. i find cheap cars on craigslist all the time.
2. Try a local credit union or repossession company. Repossession companies often get cars for pennies on the dollar. I know I do and sell them cheap for the finance companies too. Awesome deals this way.
