what kind of cars are good to modify?

im looking for a car to buy but can't find the right one. I 'v been looking at 3000gt's, 1999 eclipse, civics, tiburons, preludes, and other vehicles but i just want to know if there are any other cars that look really great when they are modified. on the car itself im willing to spend 7000 at the most, but would like to spend around 5000.

  1. Civics are probably the most standard car to mod. There is a ton of aftermarket support for it. You can mod a 3000GT as well but those are mostly higher end mods that cost more.
  2. If you can get your hands on a Supra. They are pretty cool Tallons and Eclipse are both very popular to modify. As are the civics that were already stated. The Impreza WRX STI is a heck of a car and though they might not have as many body modification options they do still have a good number and the mechanical mods are awsome. Celica's were popular with tuners and might be worth a look as well. Aside from that the J body club is pretty large and there are lots of visual mods for these cars. J body is basically going to be your Sunfire and Cavi. But at least they are cheap cars and you would be able to get a LOT newer model J body for the same money. Mods are moderatly priced as well. Do some google on J body and see if you like anything.
  3. civics mainly coz there are tons of aftermarket parts for them. doesn't make them the best car modified but you won't have a problem getting parts. someone mentioned a supra, while perhaps one fo the best out there, but may not be the easiest thing to find them in the price range you want. easiest also is any car that came with a turbo. sure you can add turbos to n/a cars but that's just more work. mr2, eclipse, golf/jetta 1.8t, even an older audi A4 1.8t.
  4. Civic's, Fit's and Mustang's are both good cars to mod if you like speed. Otherwise, Jeep Wrangler's are nice to mod as well. Body kit's can be expense though...
