Car Insurance - Looking for new vehicle, how to get blanket full coverage before buying new car?

Okay, I am currently with Geico Insurance and have been a customer for several years. I have a vehicle (97 ford escort) that I just have liability coverage on. I am currently looking to buy a used/new car with in the next week but I will have to finance it so... I will need to get full coverage insurance. My issue is this. I do not know what car I want or going to end up with. Is there any way, like a blanket full coverage, that I can do while I look for the vehicle and then modify it when I get approval for the financing of the vehicle? I do not want to upgrade my current car's insurance coverage because it is breaking down (fuel pump issues) and they have to visually inspect it before insurance can be upgraded.
