Has anyone ever done police auction to buy a car?

I've always been curious how it works and wondered if anyone can tell me their experence. Is it worth it? I know cars won't be only $500 unless its a total piece, but I just wonder how it works.

2. Don't do it. They are horrible cars with absolutely no maintenance coverage. You will end up paying more to fix it than it costs to buy it.
