police car auctions in southern california?

ok so i need a car im 16 and i only have like 3,800 but i want a decent car and i have heard that at police auctions and impound lots the cars can be extremely cheap like a nice bmw for 1,000 is this true? where are these auction held or where are these impound lots at? preferably something within the san fernando valley but any info u have within southern california is very appreciated

1. This is true. It is in every state that cops steal cars. I think you could Google "impound lots in california" and find something.
2. Almost every city, county, and state (and federal law enforcement agencies) have seized-property auctions regularly. They are usually announced, by law, in a local newspaper once a month, or once a quarter. You would have to find out which paper and on what schedule.
