CARS - Buy a new car, but an older model.?
I want to trade in my SUV to purchases a new car. Does it have to be a 2009-10 model or can it be new but a 2008 and before model? Also, where do you find older models of cars. I would like a subaru impreza but the 09 model is hideous, i like the older models much better.

- from what i understand the new car you get can be an 08 but no older so you have to get an 08-2010 but thing is the new car can't be used, it HAS to be considered brand new and it will be very hard to find an 08 model and anything thats still in the "New" condition meaning hasn't been sold to anybody since coming from the factory now im not saying you won't find an 08 model impreza but you'd get so frustrated from striking out and not finding one that you'll either live with an 09, get a different car or not even trying to do the CARS program and do a straight up trade, most likely if you somehow did find a "new" 08 impreza it will be across country or something so it wouldn't even be worth trying to get here's the link to the CARS site, should tell you everything you want to know, click on the "MPG Ratings" tab to see if your old car and new car you want both qualify for the program: http://www.cars.gov/
- the car you buy must be brand new, never sold and registerd. period. If you can find a NEW 08 it would qualify. no used cars qualify.
- I was startled to see how ugly some of the Subarus have been lately. But I would be worried about a brand of car where they still had new ones around that are two years old. I would expect it to be as cheap as a 2008 used one. Because no matter what if you get a new 2008, you have two years depreciation on it the day you buy it, not one year.
