Car Title Loan Default?

My friend has been driving a vehicle that was used for a car title loan that has now defaulted. Her ex husband has the loan in his name, but both of them signed off on the title. The loan company won't deal with her (her name isn't on the loan so they won't make arrangements with her and he won't call them to add her name to the loan), he won't pay on the loan, and she no longer needs the vehicle. She has considered just driving it to the loan company and leaving the keys - but they have told her they don't want the vehicle either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
