What's this £50 cash back with a car insurance quote all about?

I was quoted £370, clicked on 'buy now' and it said £420.....you get the £50 cash back, in a cheque, through the post after 120 days

1. Us oldies call it 'A sprat to catch a mackerel'. It's a ploy to make simple people think they are being given a gift. Whereas of course it it their own money, if you actually get it back, which I strongly doubt.
2. You just reminded me that I am due my £50 cashback, it's been over 120 days, I went with them on June 30th. I shall be on the phone tomorrow. I only went with them because the £50 cashback meant they were cheaper - which will go back into my inusurance saving account.
