I have a Geico car insurance policy. Does this mean I have an insurance agent?
I'm applying for a law enforcement academy and on the application it asks for my insurance company, policy number, coverage dates, etc. But it also asks for my agent's name, address and phone number. To my knowledge I never thought I had one. I just want to know do I have an agent? Is it something that everybody gets?

- Geico is considered a "direct" company meaning that they do not have agents only employees. So the answer would be you don't have an agent. The only exception to that rule--which would be highly unusual--is if your policy is written through your state automobile insurance plan and was assigned to Geico--under that scenario if you went to an agent to purchase the automobile insurance plan that person or agency would be your agent. I hope this information helps. Good Luck with your training and career.
