Would any car insurance(allstate, geico) insure an international student who doesn't have a PA licence?

I have my country licence and an international driving permit. I would like to buy a car in Pennsylvania as I am staying for about a year in this country. I would like to know will car insurance companies insure me?

  1. no you need an instate residence and once you have that you need a Pa license, you may be able to get the insurance from your home country, many UK insurance brokers offer exactly that insurance as so many people do it
  2. I don't have a clue what a PA licence is but what I know is that I drove coast to coast and back on my international licence and had no residence in the USA as i don't live there. It was no problem getting insurance, renting two cars, a caravan and even a bike in california and one in florida. I am not sure about staying a year there, I was there for 6 months. I also rented a caravan in canada and had no problems.
