I started a car insurance with geico in august and it doesnt expire until feb, but i found a cheaper ins comp.?
my question is, can i cancel my policy with geico and if so how much will it cost me? My next payment is due nov. 30th, do i have to pay what is due on nov 30th if i ask them to cancel before that date?

- Read your policy or call GEICO.
- Absolutely you can cancel this. But you need to call Geico and ask them how much it will cost you - cancellation methods, rates, and fees vary by state. If you cancel before Nov. 30th, and there's enough equity in your policy to cover the fees, then you don't have to pay. Again, it's a question for Geico to answer.
- Watch who you use for ins, if they are an offshore carrier, and you get in a wreck, they can take much longer to settle, and not serve you to the best they could. If this is an agent that serves many companies, demand proof thier not off shore. We had one, they didnt cover an accident my ex caused, so the person he hit couldnt get their car repaired for months, thats not why I pay ins I pay so that the person can get their car fixed, we got served papers and were being sued in court before the offshore carried decided they better do something.
- I think so that you can cancel it but they will charge some fees for cancellation, also make sure that you know very well about the company you are taking the insurance or atleast you have gathered enough information about it. Couple of days ago i have come across a place where i get answers for all my insurance related issues as well as claims, they also gave me knowledge about various other claims that should be covered for personal use .
- Yes, you can cancel your policy. Call up the insurance company and understand from them the terms and conditions of cancellation before sending in your request.
