Is there a UK classic car insurance company that insures 17 year olds?
I really want to purchase a classic mini and the mini which should be the cheapest to insure is a austin mini 850cc. Are there any UK based classic car insurers who will insure a 45 year old man with his son (me) who is 17 to drive a mini 850. The year of the car is approximately 1960 and modifications will be as limited as possible. Thanks, Tom

- i should think so as long as the adult is the main person on the policy and you are second driver it shouldn't be to hard google classic car insurance and you should find summat
- autoinsurance.maclenet.com - try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.

- It is possible but still won't be cheap. By going in with your father any claim caused by you will affect what he pays on any other car insurance he holds and they may suspect you are "fronting". You may have to show that you both have the use of another, non-classic, vehicle. Buy a magazine such as practical classics and start ringing around the companies that advertise classic insurance. Very few do online quotes as they are potentially covering any vehicle built anywhere in the last 120 years !
