- just because it has a V6 doesn't mean it's good on gas. that car puts out 280 hp, you're looking at about 15 mpg. a classic is any car that's 20 years old or more, so yes it is a classic but not quite an antique(25 years old). basically, at 16 you're insurance would be INSANE with that car. they're worth between $10,000-50,000, and they're considered to be a high performance sports car. you could get classic car insurance instead, but not a lot of companies would accept you due to your age. with a lot of classic insurance plans, you can't drive the car past 9pm and you're only allowed to drive it a certain number of miles daily. hope this helps. ***I also forgot to mention that the Buick GN is a serious collector car. most of them have incredibly low mileage and spent the majority of their existence sitting in a garage, being driven mainly to car shows or on weekends. a lot of GN owners really would not feel comfortable selling their car to someone who's 16 years old. basically, you've had your license for a year at the absolute most. that's not nearly enough experience to be driving a car that was developed by McLaren, and this is going to be the main problem you're going to face.
- You can get an on-line quote. Make sure that you have the VIN code from the dash board to give them, that is how they know what car it is you have. I agree with above. At your age and this high performance car,it will cost you a fortune to cover it. Is it for sale? I know people that would love a Grand Sport like that.
- The least expensive to insure would be the base 3.8L Grand National, but even then, it probably won't be cheap. 87's were among the hottest years for that car, and you don't see them very often. Even the base model was a pretty fast car, and insurance companies definitely took note of that. The most expensive ones to insure would be the Turbo T Grand Nationals (only 1500 or so were made) and the GNX Grand Nationals (only 500 or so were made). The latter two are serious collector vehicles and as such, would command some pretty hefty insurance premiums.
- There are several ways that you can consider.Call your local agent or do the online quote yourself.Take which way,it depends on your time and knowledge.
