When someone says that they left a classic car parked outside, are they suspected of insurance fraud?
I thought that classic cars are usually garaged. See question at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ao9L6_uBj7V3DRnKoq9ifmLH5HNG;_ylv=3?qid=20100220190005AAiYOcH and answer this question: If you were the insurance company, would you believe that person?
Public Comments
- No. But the examination under oath, is probably to VERIFY, in the insured's own words, that the vehicle was left outside, and unattended. See, most classic car policies don't cover theft of an unattended vehicle, UNLESS that vehicle is in a locked garage. They're probably trying to cover their bases, and get you on record that the vehicle was parked outside, when it was stolen. Then they'll deny the claim - rightfully - if your policy says there's no theft coverage on a vehicle unattended, if it's not in a locked garage.
- no i wouldn't think so
