Car insurance with minor traffic violations from a different state?
Recently I just bought a car and I'm looking for great deals on car insurance in the MN area or wherever. I've applied to almost four different insurance companies to get free online quotes (ex: esurance, progressive, etc.) and they've been asking if I've had driving violations in the past three or five years. Now my question is, If I had traffic violation tickets back in WIS, do I have to list them down since I'm living in a different state? or what's up? Give me some hints or insurance companies where I could get a great deal from as well!!

- Yes, you do need to admit the tickets; Insurance companies have this funny way of checking your record, and the DMVs have a funny way of comminicating with each other. When you apply for the MN license, if you haven't already, they'll ask WI about your record and find out.
- Heads up! All USA and Canadian insurance companies subscribe to databases that check all 50 states and the Canadian Provinces for violations. They WILL find them so don't do something you will regret and just 'forget" to mention those violations. By omitting them, you will be, in effect, filing a false or fraudulent application for insurance and you will be blackballed by the insurance carriers for doing so.
- yes, because the information will be shared between states. Any quotes you get, are only as "valid" as the information you give the insurance company - they will check it after they take your deposit, and uprate you accordingly. There's no "one size fits all" cheapest insurance, like there's no "one size fits all" jeans. And there's no short cut - you have to shop around to see who's cheapest for you.
- I am not totally sure about the answer,I think your should call your local agent to get some suggestions.
