Can I own a car and not be on the insurance policy to drive it (Massachusetts)?

My girlfriend is taking over payments (and eventually ownership) of my car. Can she open an insurance policy on it for herself (and not me) since I have already purchased and moved on to a new car? I do not need to drive it anymore but she is paying me cash in which I am making the payments still.
