If you buy a new car and the odometer has over 100miles on it. Would that be considered new?
We are considering buying a 2010 Scion TC. The dealership didn't have the color we wanted so we had to wait for them to get one to their showroom. My parents aren't going to take it if the odometer has 100 or over miles on the car without a discount or an upgrade.

- yes its considered new...ppl take test drives and also depending on dealership car may have been driven there instead of brought by truck.....
- if it has less than 60,000 miles on it and it's still on warranty in my option its a new car
- It's a new car until it's sold by the dealership. 100 miles is completely insignificant, if you figure the car will last 200k miles then 100 miles comes out to 0.05%.
- It could have 5,000 miles and would still be considered new as long as it wasnt previously registered.
- Your parents are pipedreaming. The car is deemed "new" until it is registered to an owner. So, a car can sit on a lot and build up a few hundred miles from test drives. This is very common. Don't let it scare you off. The car's warranty will still be enforceable.
- Mileage has nothing to do with "new" or "used". The definition of a new car is one that has never been titled. 100 miles is nothing on a car that could go 200,000 miles. Theoretically, a new car could have 10,000 miles on it, if it has never been titled.
