There is a small crack on my new car, should I ask for a discount before I buy it?
I am about to buy a certified, pre-owned 2006 Honda Pilot and I found a small crack beneath the back right tail light. Of course the salesman shrugged it off and said it's nothing, but I am wondering if I should ask for a discount of some sort, and if so, how much? Or should I simply ask for them to fix it up before I drive it off the lot today?

- Make them fix it.
- You should ask them to fit it because when you insure it the insurance co will take pictures and they will record this as previous damage making any future claim in that area less coverage.
- id ask for item to be replaced. the value of the car devalues when there is any damage. don't forget to check the car fax
- if it bothers you that much ask them to replace the lens,it wont cost them much and if they give you crap then tell them you wont buy it unless they fix it.
- Do not buy this car. Period. If you have a concern, and the salesman just shrugged it off, this is not the place you want to buy from. There could be a major possibility this car was in some kind of an accident.
- Yes! Tell them that this is a big deal to you! Ask them to fix it or to take $150 off of the price of the vehicle. Make them think that you are very serious about this problem. The worst thing that can happen is they will say no. The best thing that could happen is that they could fix the problem.
- If you buy it as is there not going to fix it so make them an $100 dollars less +$20 for your labor to have it changed cracked tail lights are against the law they'll fine you
- I would say that if it's nothing, then they should have no problem fixing it. If it leaks, and you get moisture in there, your light will keep burning out, which will require you to get it fixed, anyways. If they are advertising it as certified, it should be as good as new. You are paying a premium for this distinction.
- If you are willing to spend money on this car, the salesman should be more than willing to fix the problem before you take delivery. Remember that you're not obligated to buy this car. You can always go to a different dealership.
- wellllllllllll if its nothing just tell them to fix it or it will be nothing of a deal/sales people say anything to get the car over the curb
- no, go somewhere else what else are they willing to shrug off, just to get your money? that tail light cost around $100
