how much discount hould I get for a new car?

Hello, I have a question. How much should I be able to get off of the sticker price if we purchase a car around $20,000 new, with good student/military/first time car buyer and okay credit

1. It depends (greatly) on the car. The more popular they are, the less the discount will be. go to http://www.edmunds.com to price out the car and see the invoice and average selling price for the car you're interested in.
2. well even if u "pay" 15k for it by the time u finish making the payments u will have payed around 25k
3. A "good deal" would be 20% off list price for a brand new car. A "great deal" would be Invoice price minus all the cash incentives and rebates. Having anything less than excellent credit will really make a difference. Unfortunately that difference won't be to your advantage but that's just how life is.
