What is the cheapest newest used car to buy?

I have a nephew who wants to buy his own car. What is the cheapest used car out there? Anything lower than $2,000 and made after 2002?

3. newest cheapest used cars in my opinion: Hyundai Accent or Nissan Versa.
4. i dont think you will find a running, in good condition car under 2k thats newer than 2002. your gunna have to get something from the 90's most likely.
5. Anything lower than 2,000, and you're looking at the 1990-1995 range, if you're really lucky, you can find a 97-98 with a few cosmetic damages. for 2002 and up, you're looking at 5-6k at the least,
