Should I buy a car in New York or Colorado?

Does anyone know in which of those two sates it would be cheaper to buy a newer used car? I live in NY and will be moving to CO. I can register the car in NY, if that's cheaper, and then change it in CO after I move. Is there any time limit required before you can change registration and avoid another state's taxes? Any links for comparison would be appreciated! Thanks!

  1. i would say Colorado because generally their is less people living there, and therefore a lower demand for cars, and thus cheaper prices to sell them quicker. Get a car that holds its value well, like the chevy malibu. As a suggestion, Kia / Hyundai will look nice and good price, but they will lose their value almost instantly.
