- USED! you'll get way more for your money. just get a used corrolla for like 2 or 3 grand, and it'll last ya 5 or 10 years
- i would say a used car for a first car, learning from my expirience and watching my cousins grow up. 95% of kids have a collision within the first 6 months. i would say a cheaper used car and save the money for a car that would be better later on.
- my opinion personally is to get a decent used car for the first. i mean unless you've been driving the parents cars for a long time. (like you've seen a few winters) then you can go new. if you get a new car right away and havent been on the road a long time, you'll hate yourself if you have some kind of accident, if it's a used car the cost wouldn't be nearly as bad. plus many cars age really well now, and you could still spend like 4-5000 and get a great car. but if you do get the new car hyundai and kia are both the same parent company, but not all the great hyundai engineering has gone into the kias yet. it still trickling down the priceline. so i reccomend the hyundai for cheap cheap cheap they have great warranty coverage and last forever.
- Nice that you have that big a budget! My first car was $250........ I would never recommend a new car as a first car for the simple fact that you can almost guarantee that it will get wrecked at some point, maybe not too severely, but it will certainly be the car that you make the most mistakes with while you learn to drive. Get the cheapest reliable car that you can find. Ask around and get someone who is good mechanically to help check out your choices before plunking down your money. If there's no car payment, you won't need full coverage insurance, just liability, which will also save you a bundle of $$. Also, you won't feel as bad, or be out nearly so many hard-earned dollars when something does finally happen to it. Save up for a few years while you build your driving skill and your back account, then you can buy something nice and know how to take care of it better.
- I'd go for a used Accent rather than new for your first car. You can get a higher level of equipment (so a GS or SE instead of a Blue) for 10k and . . . It's your first car. Chances are it will get scraped up a bit. If not by you than by a classmate in your high school or college parking lot.
- anything hyundai if you can afford new. the quality , warranty, cant be beat. buy cheap for a first car and have the warranty. buying anything used can turn upside down overnite. have had customers buy used too many times and the car went to hell long before the the payment book ran out of pages. if new is not affordable, low-milage carmax vehicle is the next safe approach. they are GOOD p[eople. dont work for them , but have bought from them , and have dealt with thier warranty people, and. they are a customer satisfaction oriented business. hyundai is quickly cornering the market in customer satisfaction, and its no mistake. im true blue and all american, but i like a bargain and dependability, and they deliver.ive suggested , hyundai to many customers and neighbors, they bought, and are VERY happy! if you buy used, pay to have it inspected by an ase certified tech. prior to purchase !
- first car without even clicking on your links go for used and i really wouldnt spend 10k on a first car 3-4k max
- Neither! You picked the two worst automakers in America! Those both suck. Get a Honda.
- I would get used because its your first car that you are learning to drive so you are gonna put some dings in it for sure. Plus the insurance will be lower because the cost of the car is a big factor in determining the price. Also if your budget is about 10k then I would get a good used one in that price range instead of getting a lown and paying alot more with monthly payments. You can get some very nice used cars out there with low milage. You just gotta figure out what you want, like car truck or suv, and keep shoping around till you find one that you cant walk away from. good luck
- Always buy used. For $10,000 you can be driving around in a really nice used BMW or a Cadillac. Or you can drive a stripped down KIA RIO. New cars cost too much.
- You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carinsurance.deep-ice.com
- First car? I would go used! Regardless of whether you decide to go new or used, always make sure to do business with a reputable dealer!
