Whats the best car (used or new) to buy for tuning performance and looks?

basically a car that i can soup up, cheap too. like less than 15 g's. also gotta be year 2000 and up. lookin for something affordable and fun. help please....

1. Just find some extra money and get a Subara Impreza WRX STI. You wont be dissappointed. It is maybe a little higher than you price range but well worth it.
2. i would say a civic , or a focus . its in your price range . , oh yeah and a eclipse .
3. you could look up Lexus GS 430 which it is big v8 that gets high 20s mpg avg. 300 hp engine (vvti) i am talking about 2001 sedan with RWD layout. it is japenese muscle car. 5.6 seconds in 0 to 60 mph
