Aside from eBay Motors, where is a good place to buy a car online?

Im not looking for any overly expensive car.

  1. craigslist, yahoo autos, vast autos, hell you can just type in what kinda car you want to buy and the area you live in on google and you will almost every time find a couple in your area for sale.
  2. including ebay most of these online sellers have turned into scams/so many now that all the local papers are carrying horror stories of people that got scammed/fake papers/switched cars/no car /cars with liens/not for me
  3. Local classified online ad websites are always good. I don't recommend Craigslist because there are too many scammers (I've had experience). Even though you want to stay online, check dealerships and newspapers. I've had good luck with them.
  4. Craigslist is the best I've found. It give many auto's close by and the sellers are often desperate. Bought an 95 f250 for 500 replaced the distributor and sold for 3500.
  5. "Ken" never fails to amuse with his succinct and detailed answers. Craigslist and the on-line autotrader are good sources. I have never been scammed and have dealt on both for years. You just need to be able to spot the legitimate deals from the phony ones. Those are everywhere these days. It doesn't mean you should avoid those sources. You just need to shop smart.
  6. Car.com
  7. Buying a car online is stupid. You wouldn't buy a house without looking at it and having it inspected. Why would you buy a car without driving it and having it inspected by a professional? Go through Yahoo autos or autotrader.com and always buy locally to avoid headaches and scams.
