Bringing a leased car into Mexico from the US - how does it work?
Can anyone shed any light on how this does or does not work? I have heard you can also sell your lease, but I'm not sure which is more work. I really don't want to have to make care payments if I'm living in Mexico. Besides, I can take the bus almost anywhere! Muchos gracias for any advice!

- it works, the engine has nothing to do with the papers...
- You can find a buyer for the car and pay off the lease. Read your lease agreement for details.
- If you do not sell it or terminate the lease and end up wanting to bring it into Mexico, you must have permission from the leasing company...I would be surprised if they will give it. See site below for getting a car permit for a car you won or are buying.
- Ot depends on the terms of your lease. Also your US car insurance is not valid there, you need a mexican policy. This is one aspect that the otherwise disfunctional police will enforce
