If you could choose, would you buy a hybrid car or a regular fuel car?
How much do you care about the harm pollution is doing to the planet? Thanks in advance!

- A hybrid car of course!! In fact, I want an 100% electric car, but the problem is that they still don't have large autonomy, they are not fast enough, they are too expensive, they don't have good design, and there are not many electric reload stations. My dream is that they make very soon the perfect electric car, with beautiful design, high speed, very large autonomy, and at last electric stations everywhere!!! Imagine, if they make a Mercedes or BMW totally electric, with 200km/h speed, same autonomy as fuel cars, it would be perfect... Style, efficiency, speed, and ENVIRONMENT, at same time!!! No pollution, no toxic emission in the air, no harm on ozon layer. I hope they do it very soon.
- A gas fuel car. I refuse to drive around in a clown car that needs to be plugged in.. If you are worried about CO2 then what about people breathing?? What are you going to do about that?? And plants and trees need CO2 to live, so I guess you hate trees.
- Both cars run the same fuel. If I could choose though I would go with my bike and public transportation and I can choose and have already chosen that for the past however many years I have been of the car age and carless. However if I actually needed a car and was going to get one I would try and go for a diesel running on waste oil and if the technology is actually possible than have also be a hybrid somewhat similar to old school submarines (diesel-electric) but as efficient as possible
- personally, i would go for the hybrid. its not a "clown car" that needs to be plugged in as it was stated in other responses. a hybrid is a mixture of fuel and electricity- its the best of both worlds! there is the reliability of the fuel source as well as the eco-friendly electric source.
- Haha I like steve's answer...but ya it will take like 20 years to pay off the extra price of the hybrid from the amount you save in gas...o and im hearing about people going I WANT AN ELECTRIC CAR YAY ok now...think about this...what is the battery made of? OH THATS RIGHT!! LITHIUM!!! witch is totally environmentally friendly...oh also...where is that electricity in ur house coming from?..........if ur answer was "from the kindness within me" u are wrong...IT COMES FROM A NUKE PLANT OR A COAL PLANT LOL SO INSTED OF BURNING GAS U BURN COAL LOLOLOLOLOLOL ya...just think about that before you go pay an extra $10,000 on a hybrid...or steal it from ur neighbor to buy one.....
- Regular. There is no global warming. It is made up and Gore is just making it worse!
- Given only the choice of a hybrid or an ICE would be rather difficult as I am not particularly fond of either one. As a result, I would need to have some more questions answered: -Is the ICE vehicle fuel efficient or are we talking about a 12 MPG SUV or truck with an ICE (internal combustion engine)? -For the ICE are we thinking of a petrol vehicle, some flex fuel vehicle, or a diesel vehicle and is it set up to take bio diesel or SVO (straight vegetable oil) -Does the "hybrid" have the capacity to be plugged into an electrical outlet? -Are we talking about a series hybrid or a parallel hybrid? -If a parallel hybrid are you thinking of a mild hybrid or a strong hybrid? I think that many would agree that these issues are about more than just pollution. Pollution is a waste product. The vehicle that produces more waste is also going to tend to be less efficient. And an inefficient vehicle is going to cost me more money in fuel. In this way, pollution free, is only a way of saying "more efficient." The standard ICE is about 15% efficient at the wheels. This means for every $1.00 I am putting in the tank as fuel I am getting $ .15 worth of locomotion. The rest is heat, wear, and yes, pollution. Given a reasonable choice I am not going to throw most of my money away like that. Unfortunately, we don't have much of a choice just now. An electric drive train can be over 90% efficient at the wheels.1 This could potentially save me a lot of money on fuel. The hybrid is a mix between the two. The questions are really trying to determine what kind of a mix is in the offering. The hybrid has a drawback of being more complex and that eventually has to translate into maintenance issues. It is not about pollution it is about economy. It is my money. If you give me the choice to waste money of use it wisely, I am going to try not to waste it. Now if it is your money...
- if i could choose i would buy a diesel turbo charged mercedes benz. Or a good old fashioned american car. Not some japanese electric go cart like thing
- The true cost of the hybrids still is unknown. Just how much additional energy is used in making those things? How long will the battery pack last before it has to be replaced? How much energy in making a new battery pack and getting rid of the old one? Are there any toxic chemicals in the old battery pack that makes it a problem in disposal? At least with a regular fuel car you know all the answers as to production and disposal. However, what is really coming on strong as "good" is clean burning diesel cars. Many of them get better gas mileage than the hybirds and when you consider all the different kinds of fuel they can burn, they just might help the most. Imagine burning up all that waste oil from cooking rather than just dumping it down the drain. Got some old kerosene, home heating oil, jet fuel or the like sitting around? A diesel car can burn all of those. A car that uses gasoline can only burn gasoline.
- A 2011 Camaro SS convertible 6.2 liter 6-speed. Orange with white stripes.
- Well if the hybrid will save money in the long run than I would get a hybrid. But I wouldn't do it based on the "save the planet" lies.
- I would buy neither, since both use gasoline, which is totally unnecessary. I have chosen to drive cars that do not run on gasoline at all; they run on natural gas (methane). My family has a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck and a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria, and both run on natural gas, which is cheaper, cleaner and better for the engines than gasoline. Natural gas is a very clean-burning type of fuel and we have lots of it in the USA and Canada, so there is no need to spend our money on foreign oil. I believe it's a great solution to the oil and pollution problem. You can learn more about this type of alternative fuel from my sources below. We love our natural gas vehicles!
- Neither. I would choose to walk, bike, or ride public transport first. And barring all those, I would choose either a plug-in hybrid, or preferably an all-electric car. i care about what my affect is on the planet, and what it will be like for future generations.
- Hybrid, definatly, because I care!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYlrfBw546Q&feature=grec_index
- I would buy gasoline because I live in a rural area. Most of my driving is highway so gasoline cars get better mileage.Hybrids are fine if you live in a big city.
