What car insurance companies aren't too financially cruel to teenagers?

I'm going to be 18 soon and my parents have told me they'd like me to find my own car insurance rather than being on theirs. I've been driving for 9 months and I haven't gotten any tickets or been in any accidents, and I'll get that good-student discount where available. But what insurance companies do you recommend that won't absolutely kill my part-time paycheck? Thanks! Good point about what my parents are required to do, but I won't be living in their household anymore, so they won't be required to include me on the insurance.

  1. he he, the only way to get accurate quotes is to start calling insurance companies as the rates depend on so many different things. If I were you, I'd get my quotes, show the parents and beg to be left on theirs.
  2. You parents are require to list you on their insurance policy if you live in the house hold. Depending on the state you are in your parents can exclude you from coverage on their vehicle. If you ever drive their vehicle and their insurance company finds out that you are living in the house hold they can tag you parents with insurance fraud. They will not be able to get insurance from any regular company. If they exclude you on their policy, you need to look in the phone book for an insurance broker. These people will do the work for you to find the lowest rates. They will shop for you ever time your policy comes up for a renewal.
  3. They are NOT required to list you on their insurance. That guy is a dumbass. Just start calling places.
  4. autoinsurance.bebto.com - check this one. As I remember they have lowest car insurance rates for teens and young drivers.
