Classic mustang as a first car?

I am almost 17 years old, and have had a job working for my uncle for the past 2 years and have saved up about $8000 through the job, as well as other things. My grandpa also gave me another $7000 for a car, making it a total of $15000. I really like the look and feel (I have driven one before) of the classic mustangs. I have seen multiple 1964-1968 mustangs available in this price range. I am looking at a few different mustangs, and would prefer to get a 6 cyl (for the better gas mileage) 1965-66, which I have found a couple of for sale on craigslist. I am wonder if it would be a good or bad idea to get one of these: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/cto/2012940121.html http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/1995392300.html http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/1965988360.html http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/cto/2009327981.html http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/csw/cto/2015377666.html http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/cto/2025598221.html http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/cto/1973400869.html I am also wondering what I could expect insurance to be around. I have heard that it is not that much with classic cars. I am also wondering about gas. I would be driving to school every weekday, which is only 2 miles away.

  1. Sure, Gas mileage probably won't be any better (or worse) of a newer car with a 6 cyl. I would look for one though because craigslist sucks.
  2. Insurance for a young driver is not cheap on anything. Collector car insurance is usually less than "traditional" coverage because collector cars are not driven as much and are shown more care and caution. In regard to using one for a daily driver..that is your choice. There are many for sale right now at pretty attractive prices due to the current economy.
  3. For the situation like yours,I would like to suggest you have a look here   www.Autoinsurancepro.info   ,you should find something useful.
