Overhaulin'

I wss in a auto collision. I was not at fault. Other driver did not yield the right-of-way from a stop sign...?

on a side street and crossed in front of me. I have Progressive and they are repairing the damage (over $4,706.00. My car is appraised at: $5,890.00. 2004 Chevy Classic (Malibu). HER insurance is Farmers and they paid for my deductable. My question is. even though it's being repaired (I insisted on OEM PARTS, since it's what my car has in the 1st place before SHE hit me) ....can I still be compensated for the diminished value? I know even if it LOOKS repaired and all...it will never be the same...and I have to report it's been in a collision if I decide to sell it or trade it in. What should I do? Progressive won't compensate (I didnt' think so anyway). Should I put in a seperate claim for this? Forgot to add..I"m in the State of California. blob....no kidding! I was SURPRISED they didn't just total it.

  1. Why the hell would they repair it when it would be cheaper to just hand you the $5890, and sell the car for scrap?
  2. Your insurance doesn't cover DV, you will have to call the other insurance company and ask them. They will tell you the steps needed to make a DV claim.
