What is the cheapest car insurance for new 18 yr old drivers?

i am looking for a good quality cheap car insurance. I am about to get my license in 1 week and before i can drive any car my parents want me to have insurance. Any ideas?

1. Your best bet is to make a few phone calls and get quotes. I can tell you that insurance for 18 year olds is rated a bit high, and it's higher for males. Insurance is based on a few different factors: what kind of car you drive, where you live, if you have any violations yet, age and gender and what kind of coverage you need ie. full coverage, liability only, etc. It may be cheaper for you to go on your parents' insurance. The good news is, most companies offer a discount once you've been with them for a year. And it will go down once you turn 25. My company doesn't write in all states yet, or I'd tell you to call me!
