If a dealer advertises a car for a certain price, do they have to sell it to me due to false advertisement?
I saw an ad on autotrader.com advertising a car for a sale price of around $3,000.00 I know the car is worth more and has to be a mistake, but legally does the dealership have to sell me the car at the advertised sale price? Because if they refuse wouldn't that be considered false advertisement?

- hmmmm good question, I have an idea, lets put your 10,000 dollar car in autotrader and they make a mistake and print 2,000 dollars ok? tell me how you feel about that question now?

No, the dealer does not have to sell have to sell it at the price advertised and no, it would not be false advertising.
- Its either a scam or a typo. And no, they don't have to sell a car at a price that is an obvious typo. False advertising is knowingly & willingly advertising a car at a price you have no intention of honoring. That just doesn't happen.
- The dealer is NOT responsible for errors in the advertisement. If it was a typo then are not liable for the mistake. They will not sell the car for the "advertised" price if that price is wrong. That is not considered false advertising. It's considered a mistake.
